Ro. 8:28; And we know that all things work together for good [1]to them that love God, [2]to them who are the called according to His purpose.
---> would to God to be any one of them (even the very least of these ones) !
Ro. 8:28; And we know that all things work together for good [1]to them that love God, [2]to them who are the called according to His purpose.
A./ Even...............
1./ even sin..............?
a./ How is salvation bestowed? upon sinners or upon righteous ? ["Mt. 9:13;....for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."] (If) if salvation is granted upon sinners in sin (how then is it not a good thing) i.e. (if) the Salvation of God hath more abounded through sin (Ro. 5:16;...the free gift is of many offences unto justification.) (how then) didst sin not beget good ends ? NOT (that sin is preferred - NOR to be preferred ~ Ro 6:15; "What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.") but, it did "work together for good".
b./ The logic of Paul...........Ro. 3:7; For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto His glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? Is Paul here advocating "lies" as a means to good ends ? Literally speaking, yes; (if) the truth of God more abound thereby. NOT however, Ro. 3:8;....Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
2./ even death............?
Isa 57:1; The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. in which case, death begets good ends.
3./ even sickness, disease, terminal (or not)............? As for myself, ailments/malady have been a call to action signaling there to be something wrong in my life that is causing the ailments/malady ~ which, has always been a good thing to me.
B./ Suffice it to say "mindset matters" and it determines and decides much in the way of how perspectives (point of view - vantage point) determines and decides much ! e.g.(s)
Ro 14:14; I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Tit 1:15; Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
Ro 14:2; For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
1Co 8:7; Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
However,
C./ speaking from personal experience of over 57 years now, I can say beyond any doubt that..........
The GodHead has taught me much through personal failings and backsliding ("Jer 2:19; Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.") even when and where sin/sinning emerged present (yet, sin has never robbed me of God's faithfulness nor of me of my Salvation ! ) As it is written.......
Php 3:15; Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Heb 10:23; Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
1Jo 1:9; If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Heb 6:10; For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
1Co 10:13; There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Heb 10:36; For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
1Pe 5:10; But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
Heb 12:11; Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Heb.12:1-8; 1] Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3] For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4] Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. 5] And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6] For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7] If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8] But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
D,/ Even suffering begets good ends !
Ec 7:3; Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
1Pe 1:7; That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Pr 20:30; The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.
Heb 2:10; For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Heb 5:8; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
James 4:1-10; 1] From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 2] Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. 4] Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 5] Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy 6] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
2 Samuel 22:26-28; 26] With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. 27] With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury. 28] And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down. cp. Psalm 18:25-28;
2Ch 16:9; For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
